With the rapid development of the 3D scanning industry, the 3D scanner industry has penetrated into all walks of life. We can classify scanned objects into two categories: one is a directly scanable object and the other is processed before scanning. object. So let us understand that those objects that can be scanned directly and that need to be processed are scanned.
1. Objects that need to be processed before scanning
Many 3D scanners need to do some processing before scanning due to problems such as reflection, transparency, black, etc., which can not directly scan the object to be scanned, so as to achieve a satisfactory scanning effect.
Let's take a look at the following two examples to compare the effects of object scanning before and after processing.
Case 1 transparent surface object:
Case 2 Dark surface objects:
Need to improve the scanning quality of the scanned object means that we need to do some processing on the measured object:
(1) Contrast enhancer is an aerosol, and it is also the most widely used developer for 3D scanners. It can cover a scanned object with a white 'coat' to make the scan get good results. This layer of 'coating' is also easily removed after the scan.
(2) Applying paint to the surface of the object with white, or matt gray, or red, will also get a good scanning effect.
(3) For dark or shiny surface objects, powders can be applied to the surface. These powders can be corn starch, flour, talcum powder or dry cleaning agents, which are easily washed away with water.
Since most pigments are not easily removed, we recommend using Huaguang's three-dimensional contrast enhancer (imaging agent), which is safe and easily soluble in water and can be easily washed away.
2, objects that can be directly scanned
Just like its name, objects that can be scanned directly are placed on the rotating platform of the scanner and then scanned using a 3D scanner. When the laser line is scanned onto such an object, the laser will be reflected as a concentrated line to the camera to form a 3D model.
Such objects are:
1. Monochrome surface: Objects of light and red surfaces are best for scanning. Dark surface objects (including dark green and blue) do not scan well because they absorb the laser line.
2, multi-color surface: If there is more than one color on the surface of the object, the scanner should be set to the deepest color, or be prepared to scan only the darker part.
3, short-haired surface: If the surface of the scanned object has hair, fur, blankets and the like, if the fiber is very short, it is very suitable for scanning; if the fiber is too long, the laser line will be dispersed when irradiated, Information cannot be accurately reflected back to the camera.
4, matte rough surface: matte matte or surface texture dull object, laser line will form a thin visible line when it hits such object, Huaguang 3D scanner camera can easily capture, capture to scan The data information of the object. Conversely, if the object is very bright or the reflection is strong, the laser line will be reflected off, and the camera will have difficulty capturing the information of the scanned object.
5, opaque surface: opaque or translucent objects will scan better. If the object is transparent, the laser line will pass through the scanned object and the information will not be reflected back to the camera.
