3D scanning of large mechanical gear shaft
Gear shaft mainly bears alternating load, impact load, shear stress and contact stress. The shaft is easy to crack and the teeth are easy to wear. Therefore, the center of the gear shaft is required to have certain strength and toughness, high fatigue limit and multiple impact resistance. The surface shall also have certain hardness and wear resistance.
Pracical problems
1. Large mechanical gear shafts have high requirements for processing and production accuracy, and the gear surface is complex. Customers need to scan and test the workpiece to measure the gear deformation.
2. In order to ensure accuracy, the customer requires that no developer can be sprayed. The reflective surface of the gear shaft makes scanning very difficult.

Solutions
The large mechanical gear shaft is 2m long and 50cm in diameter. It is a Holon B71 three-dimensional scanner. 11 pairs of crossed blue laser lines are used for fast scanning of the shaft in a large-scale mode, 7 parallel blue laser lines are used for feature extraction of the details in a precision mode, and 1 single line deep hole mode is used for scanning the special surface. Finally, complete three-dimensional data of the large mechanical gear shaft are obtained.
Holon B71 handheld 3D scanner has a measurement accuracy of up to 0.02mm. It compares the complete and high-precision 3D data with the original digital analog in three dimensions to obtain a simple and understandable comparison test report, which is used for the deformation analysis of gear shaft.
